Q&A: Industry Tech Leader Freddy Kuo Joins Forbes Technology Council

As Luminys continues to expand its footprint in AI-driven security and smart building technologies, the company proudly celebrates a major milestone: its Chairman, Freddy Kuo, has been invited to join the prestigious Forbes Technology Council. This recognition highlights not only Mr. Kuo’s visionary leadership across the Foxlink Group, but also Luminys’ commitment to delivering safe, smart, and sustainable ecosystems through innovation and global collaboration.

Q: Freddy, congratulations on being accepted into the Forbes Technology Council! Can you please tell us a little bit about yourself and your work? 

A: Thank you! I currently hold several positions within the Foxlink Group, including Special Office Executive Assistant at Foxlink and Chairman of Luminys System Corporation. Most recently, I built the core team for SYNC ROBOTIC, a robotics effort launched to accelerate Foxlink's transition to an AI-powered organization.   

In addition, I am the Chairman of the Board of Luminys, a Foxlink subsidiary established in the United States that specializes in video security and smart building solutions. At Luminys, I effectively led the acquisition and integration of significant assets to provide the groundwork for the company's presence in the United States market. As Chairman, I am responsible for developing the strategic vision and roadmap for the company's expansion in the United States to provide a full spectrum of innovative security solutions.  I also serve as the Executive Director of Ubilink.AI, a joint venture between Foxlink, Shinfox Energy, and cloud provider Ubitus K.K. 

Q: Can you tell us a bit about what the Forbes Tech Council is? 

A: Yes, the Forbes Technology Council is an invitation-only community for world-class CIOs, CTOs, and technology executives. The Council brings together top technology leaders to share insights, publish thought leadership, and collaborate on industry challenges within a wide range of sectors. 

Q: Why did you decide to apply to the Forbes Tech Council? 

A: As the Chairman of Luminys, I am committed to advancing technology that fosters security, innovation, and sustainability. Joining the Forbes Technology Council was a natural next step in further building community in my journey as a technology leader. At Luminys, we are pushing the boundaries of AI-driven security solutions and smart infrastructure, and being part of this prestigious community allows us to share our expertise while learning from fellow innovators. 

Q: What do you hope to accomplish as a member of the Forbes Tech Council? 

A: My goal is to contribute to meaningful discussions that shape the future of technology, while expanding the visibility of our work in AI-driven security and sustainable ecosystems. 

The Council provides an opportunity to publish thought leadership articles, participate in expert panels, and connect with a network of top executives—all of which help amplify our mission at Luminys. By sharing expertise and learning from others, I hope to contribute to an effort that accelerates innovation and creates smarter, safer ecosystems for businesses and communities alike.

A: In my column, I plan to discuss several pressing issues that are shaping the future of the video security industry:
